SimPull

SimPull is a standalone lateral patient transfer device. In this setting all patients are placed on a sheet while lying on hospital beds, typically this is a draw sheet, and the device works by use of a clamp that can attach to any existing sheet, including fitted sheets, patron sheets or slide sheets. The device utilizes components including a motor that are all specified to pull 500 lbs, transporting ~85% of all patient populations. A utility patent protects several specific aspects of the device including SimPull’s lightweight, portable and compact design which allows providers to complete a lateral transfer with one staff member. By reducing the minimum staff members needed for lateral patient transfer from four to one, staff can remain uninjured, patients can be transferred safely and respectfully, and workflow can be improved.
