Description

Product Description:
MediaCARE offers patient-specific education easily accessed at any time through the in-room television. Selection is obtained from an extensive library of evidence-based, age-appropriate content assigned on admission, by physician orders and diagnoses code. Our educational app is consistent with Joint Commission Standards and meets Meaningful Use objectives for patient education resources. Clinicians have full flexibility to make appropriate changes, adding or deleting videos for the patient to view. If a clinician determines that additional or different content should be delivered, the agility of MediaCARE makes this easy. The system is designed to monitor and track the exact viewing and understanding of the educational content. Once the education has been completed MediaCARE will automatically notate the patient’s medical record.
About HCI TV:
HCI TV has been building patient engagement and entertainment systems since 2002. At our core, we are innovators. We genuinely believe that innovative approaches to common healthcare dilemmas will create happier patients, financially viable healthcare providers and ultimately, healthier communities.
Product Description:
Companion provides convenient access to all the features and benefits of our Engage TV solution on a bedside tablet. For example, patients can watch assigned education content on the tablet while a family member watches a move on the footwall TV. Touchscreens let patients and visitors use an on-screen keyboard to input information, interacting with the features of our Engage TV solution, including survey questions, service requests, website browsing, etc. This eliminates the need for external keyboards, which are often dropped or misplaced, in need of frequent battery changes or charging, or pose an infection control risk. Companion Tablets are typically tethered to a patient engagement table, preventing them from being dropped, lost or stolen. Tethering also allows a constant power source so tablets don’t need to be recharged. The tablet “floats” in front of the patient, so even patients with limited mobility or those who are fatigued can easily control the system. For semi-private rooms, the Companion Tablet is a wonderful solution, allowing each patient to have privacy and avoid disturbing the other with their choice of entertainment and education. ‍

Differentiators

Differentiators vs EHR Functionality:

None provided

Differentiators vs Competitors:

The Care Team has access to the video content watched by their patients, which enables them to send timely reminders to complete their viewing. The MediaCare Dashboard also offers reporting on aggregated or individual content use.

With a centrally managed content system that includes digital video content, it’s possible to reduce costs by as much as 35-40% in total print volume. That can mean a ~30% reduction or more in toner and ink costs. That adds up, since a large hospital system prints as much as eight million pages per year at a cost of approximately $3.8 million.

Interactive, digital learning helps healthcare providers reduce unnecessary costs, saves staff time and reduces readmissions or sentinel events.
